Tourism Medal of Merit Awarded to ...

The Portuguese Government awarded ATOP the 2002 Silver Medal for Outstanding Performance in Tourism, the highest honor given to the Tourism Sector. The medal was presented on May 7, 2002 at a ceremony at the Portuguese Tourist Office in New York. Mr. Joao F. D'Andrade, president of ATOP, accepted the medal and certificate, which was presented by Ambassador Cruz de Almeida, Consul General of Portugal in New York. Also attending were members of the press, and Mr. Frederico Costa, Director of the Portuguese National Tourist Office, and Mr. Miguel Cymbron, Director for Marketing, Portuguese Pousada Network.
